This is the plain-English version. We've kept it short because most privacy policies are designed not to be read.

What this covers
This policy applies to waltersapothecary.com and any orders, subscriptions, support emails, or account interactions that happen through it. By using the site or buying from us, you agree to what's described here.
What we collect
When you place an order
- Name, shipping address, billing address, email, phone (if you give it).
- Payment details — these go directly to our payment processor (Shopify Payments / Stripe). We never see or store your full card number.
- What you ordered and when.
When you subscribe to emails
- Email address. That's it.
When you use the site
- Standard analytics: pages visited, device type, country, referrer. We use this to understand what's working on the site, not to identify you personally.
- Cookies for the basic stuff (your cart, your session, your saved preferences) and for our analytics tools.
What we do with it
- Ship your order to the right address.
- Send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and customer-service replies.
- If you opted into our email list, send you occasional updates (you can unsubscribe with one click in any email).
- Improve the site — figure out which pages help and which confuse.
- Comply with US tax, accounting, and consumer-protection laws.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Ever. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We don't share your name, email, address, or order history with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We don't track you across the internet beyond standard advertising pixels you'd find on any DTC site (Meta, Google) — and we honor your browser's Do Not Track signal where supported.
Who we share data with (only when necessary)
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform. They host the site and process your order.
- The shipping carrier (USPS, UPS, etc.) — they need your address to deliver the bottle.
- Our payment processor (Shopify Payments / Stripe) — they handle the card transaction.
- Our email service provider (Klaviyo or similar) — they send the order confirmation and any opt-in marketing emails.
- US tax authorities, if compelled by law.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time:
- What data we have about you.
- To correct any data that's wrong.
- To delete your data — within the limits of US tax/accounting law (we have to keep certain records for 7 years).
- To export your data in a portable format.

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of any 'sale' (we don't sell). To exercise these rights, email support@waltersapothecary.com.
Cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser. The site will still work, but some things (cart, account login) won't function correctly.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the 'last updated' date and notify subscribers by email. The current version always lives at this URL.
